Placard-Making and Menstrual Health Workshops

The Sign-Making and Menstrual Health Workshops are a unique initiative developed by Yeewi to raise awareness among youth and adolescents about menstrual health and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR), while offering them a platform for artistic and civic expression.

During these workshops, young people take part in educational sessions on menstrual health, SRHR, and the challenges of period poverty within schools and communities. They are then invited to create signs that reflect their demands and messages for equitable access to menstrual products and an end to period taboos.

These signs don't just stay on paper: they are widely shared across all of Yeewi’s platforms and reach policymakers directly—including the Ministry of Health, the Prime Minister, and the President as part of our advocacy efforts. This ensures young people's voices are heard in the rooms where decisions affecting them are made, actively shaping public policy on menstrual health.

Through this innovative approach, the Sign-Making and Menstrual Health Workshops empower young people to learn, express themselves freely, and take action, all while contributing to a national movement to end period poverty and champion the equality and well-being of girls and young women.
